Job Description

KTH’s Nuclear Science and Engineering division in the Department of Physics is hiring a postdoc in nuclear fuel materials to study how fission products move in uranium nitride, an advanced nuclear fuel, using ion implantation. You will lead experimental and computational work on fission product diffusion and on how the high burnup structure forms in uranium nitride. The project is supported by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority and run with Westinghouse and Uppsala University.

What KTH is looking for

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent by the employment decision
  • A PhD in nuclear engineering, materials science, engineering mechanics or a similar field

Nice to have

  • A PhD obtained within three years of the deadline
  • Hands-on lab work in sintering, powder metallurgy and characterisation
  • Mesoscale and multiphysics finite element modelling
  • Good English, teamwork and independence; teaching experience is an advantage

Pay and location

KTH’s advert lists a monthly salary but no amount. The post is full time in Stockholm for at most two years, starting by agreement.
