PhD in Medical Science: Extracellular Vesicles and Blood Clotting in IVF at Uppsala University
Job Description
Uppsala University’s Department of Medical Sciences is recruiting a PhD student in medical science in its clinical chemistry group. IVF carries a higher risk of blood clots in early pregnancy, but the mechanism is unclear and there is no test for individual risk. The project studies how extracellular vesicles, nanosized particles with clotting activity that also take part in reproductive signalling, change during IVF, and whether they can serve as biomarkers, using a biobank and a prospective cohort with Karolinska Institutet, Danderyd Hospital and Livio Fertility Centre.

About the extracellular vesicle PhD
- Characterise extracellular vesicles at the single-vesicle level with high-sensitivity flow cytometry and immunological methods

What Uppsala University is looking for
