Job Description
The Quantum Matter Lab at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, is hiring a postdoctoral fellow to study topologically protected synthetic matter in 1D and 2D arrays of semiconductor-superconductor Josephson junctions arranged in different lattices. The project sits between quantum simulation and quantum matter, exploring emergent states such as topological matter and flat bands, and uses epitaxial hybrid materials. About the quantum matter postdoc

The research environment
The Quantum Matter Lab works on experimental solid-state physics, quantum nanoelectronics and condensed matter device physics, with close contact with theorists and possible industry collaboration. What University of Copenhagen is looking for

Pay and location
Salary follows the Danish agreement for academic staff: currently from DKK 35,000 (about EUR 4,700) a month at August 2026 level, with a possible supplement, plus an 18.07% employer pension contribution. Researchers moving to Denmark may qualify for a reduced tax scheme.
