Job Description

DTU’s Catalysis Theory Center (CatTheory), spanning the Departments of Physics and of Energy Conversion and Storage, is hiring postdocs in theoretical catalysis. CatTheory develops the theory of heterogeneous catalysis and electrocatalysis, including chemical processes at gas-solid and liquid-solid interfaces, with a focus on sustainable fuels and chemicals. The posts are one year. Applications close on 24 September 2026.

About CatTheory

CatTheory aims to be one of the leading centres for the theory of heterogeneous catalysis and electrocatalysis. It works closely with experimental groups at DTU and other universities and has strong computing facilities. Candidates are assessed on research experience, international impact and communication skills.

• A PhD in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related field
• Experience in catalysis for sustainable energy
• A strong, innovative background in catalysis theory
• Good English and independent and cross-disciplinary teamwork

• A record of academic cross-disciplinary collaboration

Pay and location

Salary follows the Danish collective agreement for academic staff, with supplements negotiable under DTU’s salary structure; the advert gives no figure. The appointment is for one year in Kongens Lyngby.
