What the process R&D scientist does
- Run lab experiments yourself, about one or two each working day
- Develop chemical processes that are safe, scalable and cost-effective for pilot and commercial plants
- Use automation such as jacketed reactors, dosing pumps and probes
- Lead development programmes with little direction from the customer
- Write weekly research and development reports and lead technical calls with customers
