Job Description

Lund University’s Division of Solid State Physics is hiring a postdoc in nanowire solar cells for the ZEUS project, which aims to make radiation-resistant nanowire solar cells for space far more efficient. Where space-tested single-bandgap nanowire cells reach around 15%, ZEUS targets up to 47% with triple-junction III-V nanowire cells, together with better surface passivation and transfer to lightweight, flexible substrates.

About the nanowire solar cell postdoc

  • Grow nanowires by epitaxy and process them into solar cells in the cleanroom
  • Characterise nanowires and evaluate devices by external quantum efficiency and current-voltage measurements
  • Work towards larger substrates (100 mm²), 1 x 1 cm² modules, and nanowire peel-off with substrate reuse
  • Supervise degree projects and doctoral students

Pay and location

Lund’s advert lists a monthly salary without an amount. The post is a full-time, two-year fixed-term postdoc starting by agreement.
