Job Description
DTU Physics is recruiting a full professor in quantum technology based on solid-state quantum systems, with an emphasis on quantum sensing and quantum information processing. Relevant platforms include colour centres in diamond and other hosts, spin defects, solid-state quantum memories, hybrid spin–photon interfaces and integrated solid-state devices, including systems that could enable future quantum networks. DTU wants an internationally leading experimentalist who can connect fundamental quantum physics with scalable technology and build a strong group at bigQ.

Responsibilities
- Establish and lead an internationally outstanding research programme in solid-state quantum technology
- Strengthen DTU’s position in quantum sensing and quantum information processing
- Build a group of PhD students, postdocs and technical staff, and develop experimental infrastructure
- Publish at the highest level and attract substantial external funding
- Collaborate with leading groups internationally and across DTU (quantum optics, photonics, nanotechnology, materials, electrical engineering)
- Supervise, mentor and teach, and contribute to impact in society
Strategic aims
DTU wants to strengthen solid-state platforms for quantum sensing and quantum information processing. The call names diamond-based quantum sensors, spin-based quantum devices, quantum interfaces, and solid-state systems that could enable future quantum networks, quantum processors or advanced sensing. The new professor is expected to build a strong solid-state direction and collaborate across quantum optics, photonics, sensing, nanotechnology, materials science, electrical engineering and industrial applications.
