About the work

The Centre for Child, Family and Adolescent Research is starting a new project to better understand the needs of children born prematurely and to develop new pathways of care.

The project runs a national survey of parents whose child spent time in neonatal intensive care, to understand their experiences and support needs. The team then works with colleagues in the health service to develop and evaluate improved pathways of support, using a mixed methods approach: service metrics, parent and practitioner feedback, and qualitative interviewing.

The postholder leads on project set-up and management, recruits families to take part, and contributes to in-person data collection with families and service providers.

What you need

  • A PhD in psychology, health services research, public health or a related field
  • Mixed methods experience, covering both quantitative service data and qualitative interviewing
  • A desire to influence practice for children and families through research, which the advertisement asks for directly

Pay

The advertised range is £37,694 to £46,049 a year. This is a fixed-term post.

  • Check your right to work in the UK. Every Cambridge advert carries this condition, and it is the usual reason an overseas application stalls.
