What you will do

  • Design and apply mathematical models, including simulation and optimisation frameworks, for Intel manufacturing and supply chain problems
  • Solve complex problems in factory performance, production loading, equipment optimisation, decision science and distribution networks
  • Build, validate and deploy decision algorithms, heuristics, optimisation models and simulation tools
  • Work with business units to find root causes and define requirements
  • Apply knowledge of fabrication (Fab) and assembly/test (A/T) environments

Operations research uses mathematical models to make better decisions under constraints, and semiconductor factories are a classic application: hundreds of process steps, expensive tools and tight delivery commitments. What Intel is looking for

  • A master’s degree in operations research, industrial engineering, systems engineering, management science or a related technical field
  • 2–7 years of experience (research projects and internships can count) with C# and optimisation or constraint-programming scheduling tools such as ILOG CPLEX, Gurobi or AutoSched
  • Database experience, including SQL Server
  • A foundation in linear, integer and constraint programming

Nice to have

  • 2+ years in semiconductor manufacturing and production scheduling
  • Discrete-event simulation, simulated annealing, metaheuristics and evolutionary algorithms
