Job Description

FSR@NTU is looking for an experienced Senior Research Fellow to provide technical and operational leadership for Thrust 3 of the QUASAR-CREATE programme, which works on quantum migration security: moving real systems to cryptography that stays secure against quantum computers. The role steers research direction, architecture and industry trials across internationally distributed teams, and needs deep knowledge of public-key and post-quantum cryptography, protocols and key management.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the research and technical direction, priorities and execution of Thrust 3
  • Recommend research, engineering, prototyping and industry-trial priorities
  • Make or recommend decisions on technical architecture, implementation, testing and integration, weighing security, performance, interoperability, cost and deployment risk
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary, internationally distributed teams and guide researchers without formal line management
  • Review research outputs, prototypes and trial systems, and manage delivery risks
  • Contribute to partner selection, industry engagement and technology transfer

What NTU is looking for

  • A PhD in electrical or electronic engineering, computer science, computer engineering, cybersecurity, applied cryptography or a related field
  • A strong record in applied research, engineering leadership or technology development in cryptography, cybersecurity or secure systems
  • Substantial professional experience in industry, government or applied research
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary projects across teams or organisations
  • Strong understanding of public-key and post-quantum cryptography, protocols, key management and secure-system architecture
