NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for applied research in robotics in Bengaluru to find high-impact robotics workloads and make them run fast, predictably and power-efficiently on its Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA), across camera, radar, lidar, IMU, perception, planning and actuator paths.

What you will do
- Research end-to-end robotics software stacks to find and prioritise workloads worth accelerating on the PVA
- Design, implement, test and optimise PVA operators and integrate them into real robotics pipelines
- Research parallelisation and data-movement strategies for mapping robotics algorithms onto the PVA
- Study timing, memory and real-time needs across sensor, perception, planning and actuator paths
- Build benchmarks and validation infrastructure, and support internal and external teams adopting PVA acceleration
- Write maintainable C/C++ code, performance tests and documentation, using AI-assisted tools where useful

What NVIDIA is looking for
- A BS, MS or PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in robotics software, embedded systems, accelerated computing, computer vision, sensor processing or perception
- Strong knowledge of robotics algorithms: perception, sensor fusion, control, planning or actuator pipelines
- Strong C/C++ with low-level debugging, profiling and optimisation
- Experience mapping workloads to heterogeneous hardware (CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, SIMD/VLIW processors or accelerators)
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, SoC architecture, memory hierarchy, DMA and real-time scheduling, plus embedded Linux or QNX and ROS 2
Nice to have
- NVIDIA Jetson, DRIVE, IGX, Isaac, VPI, NvMedia or PVA
- Robotics applications using CUDA or other accelerators
- Safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508
